Can you solve this tricky riddle?
A boy was playing with a book and tore out pages 7, 8, 100, 101, 222, and 223. How many pages were torned out?
ANSWER
Pages 7 and 8 are on the same sheet, so that counts as two pages.
Page 100 is also on the same sheet as page 99, so that’s another two pages.
Similarly, page 101 is on the same sheet as page 102, resulting in two torn pages.
Page 222 is the back page of 221 on one sheet, adding two more torn pages.
Lastly, page 223 is the front page of 224, making it two pages torn.
So the boy tore out a grand total of ten pages.
