As indicated in the title, are there any trends from a few years back that you are absolutely passionate about and continue to wear because you adore them? How are you individually infusing a sense of novelty into said trend within your wardrobe or ensuring that it still brings you joy when worn? Here are a few examples that may not be the most ideal, but have personally made me feel quite content. I am always looking for inspiration! For the long buttondowns and longer sweaters, layering over short skirts is trendy these days. Taylor Swift has been doing this a lot lately and definitely makes the case for it! Pair with layered jewelry and a loafer or cute sneaker. I have one Amoretu fit and casual dress that I love. I used to wear it to work in the mid to late 2010s. Now I wear it around the house. It might be looking a little girlish but I’ve seen alot of street style combining feminine dresses and I still really like it. It’s also super comfy and gives fashion dress vibes. I have a bunch of vests from a few summers ago with a low scoop neckline which are really functional. I’ve been wearing them backwards as they have a higher back and now they have a high neckline instead! I have one surviving long, thin cardigan which still serves as a light layer in the warmer months. I either do a tie-knot at the front if I’m wearing it on top of a dress or if I’m wearing it with a skirt, I make it a faux wrap-over layer and tuck the “tails” into my skirt. I have a cold shoulder top. It’s black, ribbed and with a mock neck and the cold shoulders are cut out rather than floppy ones so not very in-your-face, which I now pair with my looser jeans and wide legged trousers. My only black jeans right now are mum jeans, so I just pair them with chunky knits, tuck in t-shirts, the above-mentioned vest trick and trainers or my Timberland boots which are neither trendy nor untrendy IMO. By which I mean items that sit in neither the trendy or untrendy space but can have a dated look depending on how they’re styled. For gymwear, I do have a lot more newer stuff as my interest in fitness really renewed interest in 2020. I go for solid coloured leggings and bras rather than the abstract print, tons of mesh panels that was cool in 2014. I pair these with the ankle tennis socks over my leggings. If I’m just going for a walk then a loose t-shirt with a knot plus an oversized sweatshirt or a fleece jacket. I have a thick cable knit circle (or I guess infinity) scarf I got like a decade ago when they were everywhere. I break it out every single winter because it keeps me warm, is so cozy and I can pull it up like a hood if I don’t have a hat. It’s funny to think it’s seen my style evolve over the years but it’s definitely a staple. I’m wearing that thing until it disintegrates Quiet luxury “basics”, fluffy mohair, structured ribs, anything with interesting texture. Cardigans like Sézane sells. V necks. Collared sweater like the 90s type paired with V neck. Those very collegiate sweaters and cardigans were in but they’re out again now. Camel, cream, oatmeal are the most popular colors. Ballet influenced wrap cardigans in blush or dove grey. In general the hemline is higher than 2010 and it doesn’t cover your bum/giv
